Kollel “Shalom Yehuda” was founded by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Eliezer Platinsky shlita, in memory of his father Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Platinsky hy”d (Rav & Av Beth Din of Vishky & Devinsk in Latvia, son-in-law of Rav Nathan Zvi Finkel, the Alter of Slabodka). Rav Shlomo Yehuda Platinsky was an iluy, a rare genius, a favorite talmid of Rav Meir Simcha of Devinsk, author of “Ohr Same’ach” and the Rogatchover – Rabbi Yosef Ruzin. Rav Shlomo Yehuda, may Hashem avenge his blood, perished during WW2. Along with him, his numerous writings were lost to us, and the Shalom Yehuda Kollel was established in his memory, at the Kiryath Sanz neighborhood in Jerusalem.
The kollel numbers about ten senior avrechim, and offers its members a choice of subjects according to their individual preferences. The Kollel is housed at the great Bet Medrash “Ahavat Torah”, on Torat Chesed Street, Jerusalem.
