“The red heart is protected by this glass and it’s a glass heart, and it can be easily broken, and the shield is broken. But, at the end of the video, the heart is never broken. It had been protected for so long, but at the end of the video, even though it’s shield had been broken down, it’s still standing strong, and that’s kind of how I look at my problems and my issues.”

This is one of my favorite parts of the music video because her expression change from nearly crying to triumph represents the journey she went through of overcoming her inner demons and becoming the strong person she is today.
“That video was an emotional release for me. It was almost like therapy and I cried my eyes out in a few takes. Even when they yelled cut, I kept crying because I was like so emotionally invested and I had already gone to that place mentally and I couldn’t get out of it and so they rolled again and I just kept crying and I kept going. It felt so good. It was like therapy. That’s when I realized what music and music videos are all about.”

It’s no surprise to you but I’ve got something left to say..
